It is not advisable if you are compromising your health in order to achieve weight loss. Therefore, here are some questions you like to ask yourself to check if you are losing weight in the proper manner. Think hard before you answer and be true about it.

1.    When I plan my weight loss program,
a.    It doesn’t matter if I over exert my body
b.    I make sure the program is progressive
c.    I just put whatever I feel like it

The suitable answer here is obviously B but how many people are actually sticking to this. Most are too impatient and often over tax themselves during the process. Instead, you should learn to let your body cope with the changes and make progressive efforts in losing weight.

2.    My meals for the program includes
a.    Carbohydrate and fibre rich food
b.    Protein  and fibre rich food
c.    A mixture of protein, carbohydrate and fibre

The right answer here now is C. We should maintain a balanced diet even during the process of losing weight. However, it is advisable to cut down on the amount of carbohydrates and include more fibre rich food like vegetables and fruits. Never starve yourself and make drastic cut in your portion. Give you body some time to adjust to the changes and reduce the portion bit by bit as you deem fit.

3.    I only engage in
a.    Cardio exercises
b.    Weight training
c.    A mixture of cardio and weight training

The answer is C. It is always misunderstood that people engaging in weight loss should focus only on cardio exercises. In fact, this is a very wrong approach. Weight training helps to build up muscle and helps to burn more calories during the cardio workout. This is because muscle requires more calories to maintain as compared to fats therefore it hastens the process of losing weight. Even though you might not see a drop in body mass initially, but in the long run, weight training is definitely effective in losing weight.

Now you should know if you need more information about weight loss before you draw up your own weight loss schedule. As a rule of thumb, never over exert yourself and take things slowly.
